The Angel of the North

The Gateshead Angel of the North is Britain's largest sculpture; it weighs 200 tons, is 20 metres high and has a 54-metre wing span. That makes it wider than the Statue of Liberty is tall. The wings are angled slightly forward in a gentle gesture of embrace and they can withstand winds of more than 100mph.
